Kitten & Puppy Yoga is a monthly event where community members can enjoy a light yoga class while adoptable animals roam, play, and cuddle. Held right here in Cape Girardeau, and run by local certified instructor, Jennifer McQuay, these sessions are fun, low-pressure, and perfect for all ages and experience levels. How Kitten & Puppy Yoga Works
Kitten & Puppy Yoga is held once a month at our shelter in Cape Girardeau, typically on Saturday mornings. Classes are beginner-friendly and led by local certified instructors. During the session, adoptable kittens or puppies roam the space, offering cuddles, chaos, and plenty of smiles. Each event lasts about an hour, and space is limited, so early registration is encouraged. All proceeds go toward caring for the animals at our shelter.

Why We Host Kitten & Puppy Yoga
Kitten & Puppy Yoga brings people into our shelter in a positive, low-pressure way. It helps socialize our animals, reduces stress for participants, and often leads to new adoptions or volunteers. More than that, it’s a fun, creative way to connect the community with our work and raise money for the pets who need us most.
Do I need to bring my own yoga mat to kitten or puppy yoga?
Yes, please bring your own mat. We provide the animals and space, but you’ll need to bring anything for your practice.
Are the animals available for adoption after yoga?
Yes! Many of the animals at yoga are adoptable, and you’re welcome to speak with our staff afterward.
How often do you host kitten or puppy yoga sessions?
We usually host one event per month, but extra sessions may be added during adoption promotions or seasonal events.
