We offer discounted or waived adoption fees to help match our homeless pets with real-life heroes in Cape Girardeau and throughout Southeast Missouri. Whether you’re looking for a loyal dog, a calming cat, or a new best friend, this program makes it easier to bring a pet into your home and heart.
About the Buddies for the Brave Program
Buddies for the Brave is open to both active-duty military personnel and U.S. veterans living in Southeast Missouri. The program offers reduced or waived adoption fees for eligible adopters and applies to dogs, cats, and other available pets. Adopters must present proof of service at the time of adoption. This initiative allows us to say thank you to those who serve by helping them find a loyal companion—often one who needs a second chance too.

Who is eligible for the Buddies for the Brave program?
