For every one person born in the U.S.,
there are 15 dogs and 45 cats born!
"stats from HSUS, April 2009"

This is an alarming statistic and it highlights the real importance of spaying or neutering ones pet.

There are simply not enough homes in this community to adopt the almost 5,000 domestic animals that we take in each year.  This problem is not confined to Southeast Missouri, but is being seen nationally and worldwide.

We can not stress enough the importance of responsible pet ownership.  These responsibilities include having your pet spayed or neutered.  This is the best way that you and others can help reduce pet overpopulation and the number of unnecessary euthanasia.
