- To increase placement of animals into humane environments.
- To provide and maintain programs that promotes the well-being of the animals in our care.
- To understand and broaden awareness of animal and community needs, and identify our role in meeting those needs.
- To attract, retain, and develop capable, caring, and professional staff, paid and unpaid, to achieve our mission.
- To identify and secure resources to support our activities.
- To evaluate, maintain and improve our equipment, facilities, and grounds.
- To provide and maintain classes and programs for the public that improves the relationship between animals and people.
Who are we?
We are Humane Society of Southeast Missouri, located in Cape Girardeau Missouri, at 2536 Boutin Drive.
We have no direct affiliation with the Humane Society of Missouri or the Humane Society of the US, nor are we funded by either of these organizations.
We do not receive funding from any local, state or federal tax support, nor do we receive funding from the United Way.
We are able to provide our programs and services through housing contracts, the generosity of individuals and corporations through donations, fund-raisers, and grants.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide shelter and care for the many homeless animals in ours and surrounding communities, and advocate the humane treatment of all animals.
We strongly encourage spaying & neutering to decrease overpopulation of domestic animals, and offer spay and neuter assistance for low income families.
Additionally we provide programs and services that enhance the bond between animals and their people.
