Why is membership so important?
Membership is a vital force in sustaining the HSSEMO’s services to both people and animals. Membership gives you a chance to be a part of what helps enables the HSSEMO to maintain, improve and grow to serve this community.
How can I join?
Simpy return to the membership home page click on the Join or Renew NOW button towards the top of the page.
When is the annual membership drive?
Our Annual Membership Drive is held every May and continues through the summer until the end of July.
If I don't join during the Membership Drive, when will I get my renewal notice?
You will get your renewal notice in May during our Annual Membership Drive. If you join, for example, before the Membership Drive in 2009 (January - April - not including joining at the Annual Benefit Auction held at the end of each year during March or April), then you will not have to renew until May of 2010. If you join after the Membership Drive in 2009 (September- December), you will not have to renew until May of 2011. This way, you will not have to pay twice for membership in the same membership year.
What are the different membership levels?
There are 6 levels and an ambassdor (monthly gift) option. We have several levels so that people with all different budget sizes can help as they are able
Can I buy a Membership as a gift for a friend?
Absolutely! An HSSEMO Membership is a great gift to give a friend becuase it not only gives to that special person in your life, but also to the animals they care so deeply about. Simply return to the membership home page click on the Join or Renew NOW button towards the top of the page. You will be guided through the gift giving process.
Can members attend monthly Board Meetings?
Yes, members may attend the regular scheduled meetings, if they choose. All the Board of Directors ask, call the Shelter Director 5 days prior to the meeting and let her know you will be attending. The reason for that, to make arrangements for a larger meeting area if needed. Also if members have ideas or questions that are of unusual status, those might need to be added to the agenda.
When and where are board meetings held?
Regular scheduled meetings are held the 3rd Tuesday of each month. The board and shelter director meet in the gray trailer beside the humane society, meetings begin at 6:00pm.
